Employee Internet misuse is at an all time high. While many businesses have written Internet use policies, few have actually implemented safeguards to monitor or restrict access. How severely is this impacting your bottom line and your corporate liability?  Here are a few things to consider.

• A survey by Vault.com, of 1439 workers, found 37% of employees surfed constantly while at work, 32% surfed a few times a day, and 21% a few times a week.

• In a survey by WebSense of 224 companies, 64% of companies have disciplined and 30% have terminated employees for Internet misuse, specifically, pornography 42%, chatting 13%, gaming 12% and shopping 7% were leading causes.
